From whatever they were doing, from wherever they were, all the senshi found themselves in one place. This was the meadow, the arena for the fight. The one which would decide if earth would live or die. And if anyone will ever hear of the moon kingdom again.
Scylla rose from where she sat.
"Before we begin our battle, we have to set some guidelines."
"Oh, and I'm sure that they will be in our favor," mocked Haruka.
"In fact, that was what I was planning on doing."
The senshi all stared back at her suspiciously. An enemy who was willing to give you the edge in a battle? There must be something hidden. Something was not right.
"I am too powerful for you to take on with a one to one basis, so I planned to limit my power a bit."
Reality hit, "What?! You want us to fight one-on-one?!" Rei asked.
"It's only fair. It also makes it much easier. Only one of you needs to defeat me, in order to win. If you attacked as a group,-"
"We would be much stronger and you would be sure to lose," Makoto finished for her.
Ignoring that comment, Scylla went on, "The rules are as follows. Each of you will fight with me on a 1-on-1 basis. You can use any of your powers that you wish. I will be limited to half of my power, to help even the odds. I do want this to be fair."
"We should attack now. Don't wait for her to finish," Seiya whispered.
"I don't think that's a good idea. She has Usagi imprisoned, who knows what will happen to her if we attack now and fail," Minako whispered back.
"Oh, I'm sure you will limit your power, that's what all evil doers wish for, to play fair. But enough of this, let's start," Haruka impatiently called.
"One last thing, the set prize is release of the moon princess, the one that you call 'Usagi'."
"Not only that," Setsuna corrected. "You also have to promise to leave the entire galaxy alone!"
Scylla smiled, "I almost forgot. Very well, you have my personal promise that I will leave the entire galaxy in peace."
"So come on and fight!" Seiya shouted.
"Who's first?"
"I am," Haruka, Seiya, and Mamoru said at the same time, followed by all the other senshi voicing the same opinion.
Scylla looked at Usagi trapped in the box, "You're very popular, princess."
"Be careful, you guys!" Usagi shouted, but her voice was not transported out beyond the confines of the box. Unable to do anything, she started to cry.
"So the first battle starts now!" Scylla said putting her hands together as if in prayer.
A gust of wind swept through the meadow. Kicking up a sandstorm, though there was no sand in the meadow before. The senshi shielded their eyes from the flying debris.
Mamoru opened his eyes to find himself in a desert. In front of him, stood Scylla.
"It's always appropriate to lose in a pleasantly deceiving place," she remarked with a sweet smile.
