Bryce5 wish list

1. Ability to move a grayscale multi-dim phase-shifting fractal
or a static picture through an object to animate elevations.

Deep Texture Editor already does multi-dimensional
phase-shifting things.

2. Stereoscopic capable editors
Stereoscopic images can be seen here.

3. Stereoscopic capable renderer

4. Render up to 20,000 x 20,000

5. Mesh editor - Basic idea is to push dots with a primitive

Here is a walk-through of what i imagine will be a unique editor:

Click Edit (next to Create), click an icon that looks like a sphere of
white points. If "no mesh is selected", editor makes one

Mesh Editor presents itself; it sembles the main Bryce window.

A sphere of many white points displays, and a popup appears at
upper-right:

"To change the number of points on your mesh, click
[bryce primitives graphic with all dimmed but the sphere]
[X] Show me this again [OK]"

I'm gullible, so I click the actual graphic on the popup.

"Mesh Resolution [1024[blinking cursor]] [OK] [Cancel]"
[real-time preview]
(click OK.)

A blue sphere wireframe, about 1/3 size of white mesh follows mouse.
It is perspectively "beyond the screen", and moves less than
mouse pointer.

Blue sphere's plane of movement runs through the center of the white mesh.

A "Shape Tool" heading at right displays

I am a sheep so I press there. A sub popup: "Snap to center"
I move pointer to that, it hilights, I unclick mouse and words
change: "Click here to unfreeze shape tool" - Blue sphere
moves to the center of the white dots.

Move mouse wildly and nothing happens. With pointer in edit space,
Press mouse button and blue sphere turns red and a rim of
white points becomes darker red, like the outline on a "stripe" billiards ball.

Move mouse around wildly and you notice just those red points
getting thrown around as the red sphere runs them over.
Let up mouse button. Sphere turns blue and freezes position.

At the right, UNDO lights.
I click "Click here to unfreeze shape tool".
Sub popup: "Wait for mouse-click" (I don't click it)
and I notice sphere follows mouse like it did before.
I hold down button in edit window, sphere turns red, and
I throw points around.

Let up button, sphere turns blue.

Under "Shape Tool"
"Click here to freeze movement" becomes "Unfrozen" after maybe 8
editor have-at-it's.
Likewise, "Click here to unfreeze.." would become "Frozen"

-Shape tool adhesion: Velcro [100 --------- 0] Slick

Mesh points could also be inside the shape tool, but they'd merge if
shape tool moved too much with Slick setting.

Points could also move "Nova" style, in which case a locking
effect would be error-bypassed by allowing shaper to pass.

There are shape tool primitives at the right, and mesh primitives
along the top. If you click a mesh primitive you're already
working with, the Mesh Resolution dialogue appears.

Shape tool could also select points to
Hide
Show only
Affect only (unselected points turn light gray)
Select All
Invert

-Point Attractors or repellers

-Multi-dimensional symmetry option to create a spiky dodecahedron or
a car body.

I foresee being able to push shape tool part-way into the mesh, then
rotating the mesh for a kind of funky lathe effect.

Shape Tool selectably rotates around
-its own axis
mesh axis
camera axis

-The normal Bryce camera controls are at the left with:
[3-way vertical switch graphic] Camera
[3-way vertical switch graphic] Mesh
[3-way vertical switch graphic] Shape Tool

One Bryce4 fix: Hand tool when you move right or down only lets you
move tiny amounts for larger-than-screen render.

Must be able to select Camera while in Camera view.
