| PAST ISSUE # 10 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: How did God make everyone else after Adam and Eve? Answer: When God created animals and plants, He gave them the ability to reproduce themselves. The same is true with Adam and Eve - God created them with the ability to make babies. Adam and Eve had babies; then, when those children grew up, they got married and also had children. Those children also grew up and had babies. As time went on, there were more and more people on the earth. And although God didn't make each person the same way He created Adam and Eve, He was still involved with the creation of each one, watching over and putting him or her together just right. Key Bible verses: Genesis 1:27-28 My views: From a scientific point of view, it is possible for today's human population to be derived from just two humans - Adam and Eve. In addition, in the beginning, Adam and Eve were considered genetically pure; unblemished and physically perfect. Thus, it was logical for their genetically perfect children to inter-marry with one another as they were the only humans at that time. Today, incest is wrong. The scientific reason is that the off-springs of incestuous parents have very high possibility of having hereditary diseases. This is because modern humans are genetically flawed. The evidences speak for themselves - sickle-cell anemia, asthma, eczema, down's syndrome, cancer, etc. There is also moral reason why incest is wrong. First, after a healthy human population was established on the earth, God decreed to Moses that incest was wrong (Leviticus 18:6). Personally, I do not think God is side-stepping here. Rather, He always has our well-being in mind. Not only does having incestuous relationships produce weak off-springs, they also weaken the family structure and cause discord among family members. Just imagine, one having sexual relations with one's siblings or parents? I am sure it would result in misunderstanding, bitterness, jealousy and hate. God decrees that incest is wrong because He wants us to have an amiable, loving relationship with our family members. For moral and practical reasons, how do you expect to maintain a family or household when your children, siblings and parents are lusting after one another? Absolute chaos, I think. Next Source:
