WHAT'S NEW: ISSUE # 150 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Why does God want us to worship Him? Answer: God wants us to worship Him because He is our Creator and we are His creation (Revelation 14:7). Worshipping God is to give Him the honour and devotion which He fully deserves. For example, God is like our parent who created and loved us. Since He has given us life and love, shouldn't we return His love by worshipping Him? I once heard from a pastor another reason for worshipping God. He said that God wants us to worship Him so that we can become like Him. When we worship God who is good, holy and loving, we become more like Him - good, holy and loving. If we worship other things like money and other gods, we became like the gods we worship (2 Kings 17:15). For example, if we worship money, we will probably become greedy and materialistic. Key Bible verses: Exodus 20:5; 1 Chronicles 16:29; Matthew 4:10 Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I worship You because You are my Creator and Heavenly Father. Please forgive for the times when I worship idols and other gods. I want to honour and love You all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name I pray, Amen. Last words... "Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness." (Psalm 29:2) Next |
