Questions Kids Ask About God

Question: How come when I pray to God He doesn't always answer?

Answer: There's a difference between hearing and answering. God hears all our prayers, but he doesn't always give us what we ask for. Also, He answers all our prayers, but not always the way we want him to. When we ask God for something, sometimes He answers no or wait. A good answer is not always yes.

Key Bible verses:
Psalms 34:17-19

My views:
I have often asked myself this question: "Where are You, God? Why have You not answered my prayers?" But God does answer my prayers; some with yes's and others with nos. Sometimes, I expect God to answer my prayer according to my expectations, but I realize that I am being presumptuous. After all, God is God, who am I to tell Him what to do. These days, when I pray, I ask in faith that God will answer it according to His will and time-table. I do not expect an express answer but wait patiently for His answer. I would like to share with you how God answered one of our prayers. About 2 years ago, my father was afflicted with Hepatitis C and the doctors said that the disease would eventually lead to liver cancer. My family would prayed for my father to be healed. About 2 months ago, my father had a routine blood test. We had the most wonderful news. Apparently, the test indicated that the disease was gone - negative result. My family was overjoyed. We could not believe our eyes or ears. I am sure that the doctors were even more amazed than us. But we knew that God had finally answered our prayers after nearly 2 years. He healed my father. Friends, if you have a problem or if your love one is sick, ask in faith for God's help. He answers. My father is a living testimony that God answered our prayers through His love and grace.
