| PAST ISSUE # 13 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: If Jesus died on the cross, how can He be alive today? Answer: Jesus lived as a real human being. Jesus' death was a real death, too (He really died on the cross) - the people who killed Him made sure of that. When Jesus was killed, all of his followers were very sad. Jesus' body was put in a grave. But three days later, God brought Jesus back to life. Jesus showed His wounds to His disciples. Jesus lives in His special "glorified" body in heaven today. Isn't that great? Key Bible verses: 1 Cor. 15:3-4, Hebrews 2:14-15 My Views: One may ask: why is it so important for Jesus to die and be raised? Because it is the fundamental tenet of Christianity. Jesus Christ had to die as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world so that those who believe in Him will be redeemed by His blood and saved. If anyone can refute this tenet, the entire Christendom will collapse. The Bible will be called a sham; the most sophisticated hoax in the history of humanity! And for 2000 yrs, millions of people have lived and died for nothing. However, no one living or dead has been able to refute the fact that Christ Jesus was buried and raised on the third day. If one occasionally reads the obituary section of The Straits Times, the obituary of a Christian would normally include a statement that so and so "has been called home to be with the Lord." Basically, Christians believe that when a Christian dies, he/she will go to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus. As such, those who proclaim to be Christians do not fear death because of God's promise that those who believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus will be saved. Now, friends, let me pose you this question: do you fear death? Next Source:
