| PAST ISSUE # 16 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: How do we know that what the Bible says is true? Answer: The Bible is true because it is God's Word, and God always speaks the truth. When you read the Bible, you will see that it says it is the Word of God. The Bible also says that every word in it is true. But if that doesn't convince you, read the Bible and see for yourself that everything makes sense. When you read it, you will think, This sounds right! This is true. The Bible has also proven to be true over the many hundreds of years since it was written. For example, many events predicted in the Bible have happened, just as it said they would. Key Bible verses: 2 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 4:12 My views: Before I became a Christian, I thought the Bible was just another book of interesting tales. I considered the Bible fictitious because of the supernatural accounts that were written. For example, how could Moses part the red sea, or how could the noise generated by the Israelites cause the the city of Jerico to fall? And another incomprehensible event - the resurrection of a dead carpenter named of Jesus? In my limited mind, these events were simply too farfetched to have had happened. After I had accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour, I grew to love the Word of God (Bible). As I studied the Bible in my church and on my own, and ask Christian friends biblical questions; the Bible increasingly made sense to me. There is one unifying message that flows throughout the Bible, and that message is God's salvation. The Bible is the manual on how to be saved and I urged all of you to study it with an objective mind as I have. I am normally a skeptical young man, questioning almost everything and trusting only in hard evidence. However, the Bible convinced me that the biblical accounts were true. How? By faith and reason. I trust the Bible as the truth because it says so in the Bible. The Word of God is alive and eternal (1 Peter 1:23). And no one has ever been able to refute the Word of God, absolutely no one dead or alive. Remember that God is God and we are only mere humans. "For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength." (1 Corinthians 1:25) But, out of God's grace and love, we, His creation, are able to understand His message of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
