Questions Kids Ask About God

Question: Why does God love people?

Answer: God loves us because that's what He decided to do. God doesn't love us because we are good or nice people. In fact, no one could ever be good enough to be worthy of God's love. Isn't it amazing that God loves us even though we sometimes ignore and disobey Him?

Key Bible verses:
John 13:1; Romans 5:8, 8:38-39; Ephesians 5:1-2; Titus 3:4-6;
1 John 3:1, 3:16, 4:7-10;

My views:
For a very long time, I did not know the meaning of love. I saw it in the movies, read it in books, and saw it in the embrace of a parent to his/her child. But, I have never experienced the true meaning of love. I knew my parents love me but I felt it was conditional because I had to excel in my studies or prove myself to them to gain their love. I knew my friends "love" me but often their "love" would dissipate after a period of time or if I do not dress nice, drive a nice car, etc. Somehow, I felt I wasn't loved for who I am - my imperfections and idiosyncrasies. The love I experienced was conditional because I had to be someone who I was not just to gain their love.
Today, I can tell you a different story because I have found the meaning of true love - love which is unconditional, abundant and everlasting. Truly, I can say to anyone that God loves me. How do I know this? First, God sent His Son, Jesus to die for my sins so that I can come to know Him. Second, He showers me and my family with blessings which we are forever thankful for. Third, He convicts His children (other Christians) to send their loves for me. I thank God for His wonderful love.
This Christmas, reflect on God's immense love for all of us. Ask yourself this question: have I ever experienced true love? If you have not, would you like to? If your heart says yes,

Last words...
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
