| PAST ISSUE # 22 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Did Jesus really live like me, or was He pretend? Answer: Jesus is real. He came to earth and was born as a baby (we celebrate Jesus' birth at Christmas). And He lived like other ordinary people. Some stories we read and hear are made up and weren't meant to be taken true. But the stories in the Bible really happened, and that's where we can read about Jesus. Key Bible verses: John 20:27; 1 John 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15 My views: "Jesus cannot be real. He is just a myth, a made up character to bolster some major religious opinion," I said to myself before I became a Christian. But I was proven wrong! Jesus Christ is real to me now as He was about 2000 years ago. What evidence do I have to prove of God's existence in my life? Well, I can quote to you from the Bible about Jesus living in my heart and so on, but I think you would like some tangible evidence, right? First, how about if I tell you that God healed my sister of depression and my father of Hepatitis C? Second, how about God answering my prayers when I needed healing from my migraine or when I prayed for someone to come to know Jesus Christ? Third, how about every time I needed an answer to my question or doubt, God would reveal it through His Word (the Bible) and children (Christian friends). Isn't God wonderful? God is always there - living right now in my life and that of my family members who were touched by Him. However, please understand that I did not come to know Jesus because He did all of these wonderful things for me. I came to know Jesus because I was a sinner and He forgave me after I asked for His forgiveness. As a result of confessing my sins to God, He is faithful to me by honouring my prayers which are in accordance to His sovereign will (1 John 1:9, 5:14). Subsequently, when I feel that God has forsaken me, He would make known to me His loving presence through His Word and children. I hope that one day, you can know that Jesus is not some fictitious character from a book but God who is alive and living in your heart. Would you like to know more about Jesus Christ? He is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5:20) Next Source:
