| PAST ISSUE # 28 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Why do we pray? Answer: Prayer is talking with God. When we have a good friend, we talk to that person about all sorts of things. That's part of being a friend. In the same way, we should talk to God about what is happening in our life. God wants us to share our life with Him, to tell Him about what makes us happy, sad, and afraid. He wants to know what we want and what we would like Him to do, for ourselves and for others. Also, when we pray, we open ourselves up to God so that He can make good changes in us. Key Bible verses: Daniel 9:2-3; Philippians 4:6-7, Acts 6:1-4; John 17 My views: I cannot emphasize enough the importance of prayer in our Christian life. I accepted Jesus into my life through prayer. My sister was healed of depression through prayer. My father was healed of Hepatitis C through prayer. My brother recently rededicated his life to Christ through prayer after years of backsliding. One of my friends came to know Christ through prayer. QKAG is increasing in popularity due to prayer. Jesus said that when we ask, we will receive, and our joy will be complete (John 16:24). God has honored my family and me by answering our prayers (1 Samuel 2:30). And we are ever so thankful for His blessings. Jesus is like your best friend who is always there to listen to your fears and problems (John 15:15). And best of all, Jesus has the power to help you because He is God (Hebrews 7:25). If you are ill or have love ones who are ill, pray with faith to Jesus for healing (Mark 10:52). If you are lost, confused, lonely or heart-broken, pray to Jesus for guidance and solace (Matthew 11:28-30). If you are in doubt whether Jesus is real and true, pray to Him for conviction and revelation (Revelation 3:20). He will answer your prayers in good time like He did for me. Therefore, what stopping you from knowing the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6)? Would you like to pray to Jesus now? If so, click here. I will also be happy to pray for you if you would email me your prayer requests (Matthew 18:19). Related prayer topics in Issues # 12, 24. Last words...
