| PAST ISSUE # 33 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Does God have friends or is He alone? Answer: God does not have other "gods" to be friends with. He is the only God there is. God does not need friends the way we do; He is perfectly happy being alone. But God also wants to have friendship with us. In fact, God wants to be our closest friend. So He has done a lot to make friends with us and to have our friendship. That's why He created us, sent His Son, Jesus to save us, gave us the Bible, and gave us the church. Key Bible verses: John 15:13-15, 17:3; James 2:23 My views: Don't you agree with me that true friends are truly hard to come by? I have often been disappointed by friends who are supposed to be true and faithful but turn out otherwise. In my younger days, I would have so and so as "my bestest best friend in the whole wide universe" but he did not rise up to my expectations. It was difficult for me to find a really good friend whom I can really count on. Most of my friends are not always there for me in my times of need. However, after welcoming Jesus Christ into my life, I realized I have found a Friend for life and beyond. His Name is Jesus. Not only is Jesus my Lord and Saviour, He has also called me to be His Friend. (John 15:13-15). And the best of all, His friendship is everlasting and faithful unlike earthly friendship which comes and goes (Romans 8:35-39; 1 Corinthians 1:9). Wouldn't you wish to befriend someone who will stick with you through thick and thin? Someone who is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year? Someone who counsels and encourages you? Someone who loves you regardless of what you are? If you say yes to all of the questions, click here. Related topic in Issue # 29. Last words...
