Questions Kids Ask About God

Question: How do we know God exist?

Answer: We know that God exist because of the world around us - the natural beauty and bountiful living organisms. Certainly, there must be a creator or designer to all of these things. For example, a computer cannot build itself or happen by chance, there must be someone who designs and builds the computer. Have you ever wonder how a caterpillar can morph into a beautiful butterfly? There must be a higher intelligent being who is behind its complex design. The world around us is living proof that God exist.

Key Bible verses:
Genesis 1:1-2:4; Psalm 8:3-4, 33:6, 89:11, 95:5, 115:15; Isaiah 45:12; Jeremiah 10:12; Acts 17:24; Hebrews 3:4, 11:3;

My views:
In my younger days, I did not give much thought on the existence of God. I didn't care or want to know if God existed. So, it was interesting that God decided to reveal Himself to me (John 15:16). Well, God did not come in trumpets, bolts of lightning or clouds of glory. He simply spoke gently like a whisper (1 King 19:12). He made me realize how sinful I was, and slowly I drew myself to Him. Friends, right now, God is probably speaking to you in a gentle whisper. Quieten yourself and ask God to speak to you (Psalm 46:10). Related topic in Issue # 22.

Prayer:
Dear Almighty God, You are certainly Creator of all things. I thank You for creating me in Your image. I thank You for sending Your Son to die for my sins so that I may have eternal life. Please forgive me for my sins of disbelief, pride and rebellion. I want to be right in Your holy presence. Father God, please come and speak to me so that I may know Your purpose for me. Please remove any doubts I have of Your existence and promise. Thank you, Almighty God for your grace, mercy and love. I have faith that You will answer my prayers according to Your will and schedule. Please accept my prayers for the sake of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Last words...
"But they deliberately forget that long ago by God's word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water." (2 Peter 3:5)
