| PAST ISSUE # 5 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: Why did God make mosquitoes? Answer: When we are being attacked by mosquitoes, it's easy to wonder why God made pests and other animals that can harm us. When God created the world, it was perfect. Only after sin entered the picture did animals and human beings become enemies, causing humans to protect and defend themselves. So now mosquitoes try to feed off of us. They, in turn, become food for birds and bats. In the future, in the new heaven and new earth, animals won't hurt people or each other. Key Bible verses: Isaiah 11:6-9 My views: I cannot imagine what a new earth would look like, but I am sure it would be glorious, full of love, joy and peace; and everyone will know the Lord (Is 11:9). It is sad that this world is full of destruction, violence and death but if one looks beyond the negative; thousands of human lives are born every minute. Now, isn't that news for joy? But, this is even better news - about 2000 yrs ago, amid the corruption, evilness and uncertainty of the world, a child was born and His death was a sacrifice for our sins so that those who have faith in Him will see the new heaven and the new earth (Hebrews 9:26).
