Questions Kids Ask About God

Question: Who will be my judge when I die?

Answer: When we put our faith in Christ, we are considered righteous before God and escape condemnation, and our names are written in the book of life (Romans 5:1-2, 8:1; Revelation 21:27). However, we must also stand before Christ and be answerable to our actions as Christians (Romans 14:10; 1 Corinthians 3:10-15; 2 Corinthians 5:10). For example, if our good works are tested and pleasing to Christ, He will reward us (1 Corinthians 3:14). But if our works are tested and do not survive the fire, we will be saved but like one escaping the flames (1 Corinthians 3:15). Do remember that Christ is judging the actions of Christians who are ALREADY saved by faith in Him. Christ is not judging our actions for the purpose of salvation but for rewarding us for what we have done as Christians, e.g. helping the needy, witnessing, preaching the good news, etc.
As for non-believers, they will also be judged by God who will sit on the white throne (
Revelation 20:11). They will be judged according to what they have done in their lives (Romans 2:14-16; Revelation 20:12). Those whose names are written in the book of life can enter God's kingdom (Revelation 21:27). But those whose names are not written in the book of life God will be thrown into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

Key Bible verses:
Psalm 75:7; Isaiah 11:4; Matthew 25:32; John 5:22; Acts 10:42; Romans 2:16, 14:10; 1 Corinthians 4:5; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Hebrew 12:23; Revelation 20:11-15

My views:
Do you know that a major non-Christian religious book claims that Jesus will be the Judge of humankind? Unfortunately, the followers of this major religion do not believe Jesus as the Son of God and the way to salvation (John 3:16, 14:6). It is also unfortunate that there are millions of people who don't even believe in the existence of God. They think that there will no one to judge them when they die. I am sad when they die and realise the truth that they have to be accountable to their Creator. And how would God, their Creator judge them for rejecting and denying Him? I have no right to judge them but the Bible clearly states the repercussion of people who do not believe in Him (Revelation 21:8). Do you know anyone who do not believe in God? if you do, let's pray for that person to one day come to know the true and living God. Related topic is Issues # 18, 19, 23, 39, 65, 66.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You are Judge of all. I thank You that I am no longer condemned for my sins. I thank You that I have been saved to do good works to glorify Your Name (Ephesians 2:10). Right now, I want to pray for my unbelieving relatives and friends, especially... (list out the names). I ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon them so that they will know that You are their Creator and Judge. I ask that You remove  any doubts and unbelief from their minds and hearts so that they may accept Your gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I thank You and exalt You over their lives. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

Last words...
"There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy." (James 4:12)
