| PAST ISSUE # 68 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: What happen to us when we die? Answer: When we die, the Bible says that we are like falling asleep. When Jesus comes, the dead who were killed because of their faith in Jesus will be resurrected and reign with Him for a thousand years (1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20:4). After the thousand years of Christ's reign on earth, the rest of the dead will be resurrected and judged (Revelation 20:12-13). Then the dead whose names are written in the book of life will be with God forever in the new Jerusalem (Revelation 21:27). Key Bible verses: Daniel 12:2; Mark 5:36; John 11:11; Acts 13:36; 1 Corinthians 15:6, 52; 1 Thessalonians 4:13; Hebrews 9:27 My views: One group of people believe that when they die, they will be reincarnated into spirits, humans, animals, or even an inanimate object such as a stone. Another group of people believe that when they die, they go through purgatory before they enter heaven. However, Christians believe that when we die, we fall asleep and be resurrected when Jesus comes again to judge the living and the dead. So, who has the right view of death? I think Christians have the right view because we base our view on God's Word - the Holy Bible. Furthermore, we have Someone who had been through death, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and promised to come again (1 Corinthians 6:14; 2 Corinthians 4:14). Now, who would you rather believe? Jesus who went through that or someone else who cannot make a claim such as Jesus'? Related topic in Issue # 67. Prayer: Lord Jesus, I believe that You died, You rose from the dead, You ascended to heaven and now sits at the right hand of Your Father. I believe that You will come again to judge the living and the dead. I praise and thank You that by Your death and resurrection, You have overcome sin and death, and proclaim victory to me who was once imprisoned to sin and death. I thank and worship You, my Saviour and Lord. Amen. Worship: Click here to sing along to "He Lives" I serve a risen Saviour, He's in the world today; I know that He is living, Whatever men may say; I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, And just the time I need Him He's always near. Chorus: He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and He talks with me Along life's narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives: He lives within my heart. In all the world around me I see His loving care, And tho my heart grows weary I never will despair; I know that He is leading Thro' all the stormy blast, The day of His appearing Will come at last. Last words... "I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." (Revelation 1:18) Next
