| PAST ISSUE # 69 Questions Kids Ask About God Question: What is a saint? Answer: A saint is someone who has a living faith in Jesus Christ, and lives a life of righteousness and holiness according to God's will and calling (Luke 1:74-75; 1 Thessalonians 4:7). Every born again Christian, whether he or she is dead or alive, is a saint. Key Bible verses: 1 Corinthians 6:1-2; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Ephesians 1:1,18-23; Philippians 1:1; 1 Peter 2:9; Revelation 5:8, 14:12 My views: If you are a born again Christian, are you surprised that you are identified as a saint according to the Bible? You may not have performed any miracles or dedicated your life serving the destitute, but you are called a saint by God. You may not be the most holy person on earth, but God has called you a saint. Wow! What a responsibility and privilege? If God sees you as a saint, do you see yourself as a saint? God has set you apart from the world to be His saint so that you will be a living testimony of His love and grace. Are you living up to God's expectation? Examine your life right now. Are there any sins which hinder you from living up to your potential as God's saint? Are you complacent or indifferent to witnessing to the lost? Are you a blessing to your relatives, friends or the homeless person you see everyday on your way to work? Are you prepared to die for Christ (Revelation 6:9, 16:6)? It is a decision you have to make. If there is conviction in your heart or the Holy Spirit is speaking to you right now, let us pray. Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for Your precious gift of eternal life through the one and perfect sacrifice of Your Son on the cross. I thank You that You are always faithful and never give up on me even though I may rebel against You. I thank You that You consider me to be righteous because of my faith in Your Son. I thank You that You have called me to be a saint, a living witness of Your love, grace and power. Father God, please forgive me when I have not lived a holy life. Please forgive me when I have been complacent and indifferent to the lost and unsaved. Please forgive me when I have been a stumbling block to the people around me. Please forgive me for not putting You as the only Lord and Saviour in my life. I thank You for forgiving my sins. Right now, I ask for Your empowerment, Your guidance, and Your blessing so that I can be the saint You want me to be. Thank You, Father God. In Jesus' precious Name I pray, Amen. Last words... "But the saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom and will possess it forever--yes, for ever and ever." (Daniel 7:18) Next |
