HOW CAN I USE IT?



*What Is That ?

This is the masterpage of the University of Information. Within this page we will try to expose and to document our design concept and to portray the philosophy of information hidden behind this.

We will start by answering some of the important questions of identification and positioning and we will conclude by showing the reasons for our decisions in design and structure.



*How Can You Navigate ?

Beside the control mechanisms, defined and known by the user interface, which allow to move and to navigate within the concerned information unit, we created some further structures and tools. These are marked by color or figure. They activate special operations and functions, to determine an information, to combine and to verify these facts with their environment and to follow them by leaving into another quality.
Therefore it is very important to ask :



*Where Are You ?

An essential help for structuring and working out for the recipient is especially found in the answer to this question. The reader must also recognise the importance or the consequences of a message and be able to integrate these into their concerning world. That means, apart from concretising the structure, a temporal order and an informational geographical definition, guaranteed by an unequivocal inclusion of the URL (Unique Resource Location), as well as date, time, headline and layout, the recipient simply has to order these.



*Where Are You Coming From ?

This is connected with the answering of the questions: Where are your roots and in which directions can you go ? The exact determination of the value of an information is given only through their background, but without this the information will lose their informative attributes. The figures must be embedded in the other, the unknown stuff. Because of the fact that only this remark can take into account the special subjective security requirement of the addressee by risk estimation, this is getting more and more important - the overwhelming governmental, structural and secret wiretapping operations should be taken into consideration.



*What About The Other World ?

The value of an information can be supported or underlined, if this information is confirmed by other media such as charts, diagrams, pictures, movies, sounds, music and so on. In other words, the changing of the media location can help to understand and to arrange given facts through another kind of perception.

On the other hand it must be guaranteed, that these additional figures do not undermine the main task of distributing information. It must be clear, that generally all of these further facts only accentuate the information in their major part.

It is very important to offer these facts where they are needed, or to make them accessible for these structures. This means that the whole structure of our service is determined by the needs and the informational and also logistical attributes of the lowest or better technically weakest side.
