There are now several sites that are giving out "free computers." Are they really free? If something can be free with strings then maybe they are. And you may not mind the strings. Most of these offers require you to sign up for internet service and pay around $20.00 per month, even though you can now get dial-up internet service for free. Another problem is that DSL lines are now coming down in price, and since they run faster and are more reliable than dial-up service, you may want to use DSL rather than dial-up service which you would be stuck with.
