On Wednesday, it was back to old favorites. We all kind of slept in
-- figured we'd been getting up early to hit the parks all week, we owed
it to ourselves. That, and we just kind of slept through the alarm.
So we got to the Universal parks with enough time to hit Hulk and maybe
one or two other things before we had to meet up with Sis and BIL.
As i may have mentioned before, the City Walk thing connecting the two
Universal parks had a Hard Rock Café (once again, supposedly the "world's
largest") in it, and BIL had never been to one, so we figured we'd make a
formal introduction. We ended up eating around 3pm, just to avoid
the 12 o'clock crowd (hell, you think the Furman Dining Hall is crowded at
noon ...). So yeah, good eats, good time. LM got a little
restless at a few points (she liked playing with the swinging lamp above
the table -- we liked the prospect of not getting clobbered in the
head with the swinging lamp above the table -- you can see the conflict
there, i'm sure). After that, i think we may have hit another ride or two, and then it was back to the CW theater -- this time, for Elf. We'd thought about taking in the new Texas Chainsaw (Seth saw it with some friends, thought i'd like it, and we'd seen it on the marquee when we went to see M:R), but it wasn't playing there anymore. And Elf was starting like five minutes after we arrived, so we figured it was providence or something. Even though we don't believe in the One. But we do believe in Will Ferrell. (Yay for needless Matrix references.) Anywho, Elf -- not a great movie. Cute. Good lite viewing. Not as horrible as Monky made it out to be. But not great. We got out of the movie with just enough time to grab Seth a cup of Dippin' Dots (his drug fix =P ) from IOA and spend a few minutes wandering around the park. Then it was back to the arcades to watch people look goofy playing DDR and then on the bus back to the hotel. |
