My Research Interests

  • Fluid Structure Interaction
  • Analysis of Offshore Structures
  • Dynamics of Structures
  • Finite Element Methods

My Accomplishments in sequential order

I believe in working towards one goal. My goal is to become a good researcher in Fluid/Structural engineering. I have chosen my field of interest, Fluid Structural Copuling accordingly. I first learnt Finite Element Analysis in Summer 2004. I then learnt the method of descretization of domains. I wrote a program to descretize the dam/fluid domain. Then I started working on applying FEM and analysing the dam, fluid and soil induvidually. After completing the program, I concentrated on forces on dam from the fluid which fruitified into a paper published in a international conference ICTACEM in December 2004. My internship in L & T in summer 2005 forced me deviate a little from my interests where I was asked to do sensitivity analysis on renovation of a pipe rack system and foundation retrofitting. After coming back from internship, I again concentrated on main initial problem of dam and reservoir. I now worked on coupling part of problem and got successful results of direct coupling. Coding of all the programs in the project were done in VC++.

Current Works

Now I have chosen to work on non linear interaction coupling problem between dam and fluid. I am basically working on a offshore structure as a non linear coupling problem. I have already studied how to implement the nonlinearity in the system. Now I am working on forces in the system when it is excited under harmonic, ramp and seismic loading.
