Jami’s been an online junkie ever since she was introduced to it in the fifth grade. Oddly enough, she was infected by anime the year before then, Tenchi Muyo! being her first anime ever seen, shortly followed by Project A-Ko. Being a senior this year, she has attended all three of her high school years at Lincoln Southeast, although she spent most of her day (10-3) at the Arts and Humanities Focus Program in her junior year. Jami is an artist and loves drawing anime characters that are mostly of her own creation. She’s hoping for something that would allow her to be creative in the long run, such as being a manga artist in Japan (better learn Japanese first), or working in Hollywood to be a screenwriter and work on set, maybe get into acting. Her favourite kind of anime are usually shoujo, the girly type that are filled with complicated love triangles and pretty artwork. Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena) became an easy favourite when she was introduced to the show. Her obsessions include (but not limited to): Anything with Boy George on it, Phantom of the Opera, Malice Mizer (a great Japanese goth band that broke up years ago, ever seen her car, you’ll know who they are) and cute foreign exchange students. Besides helping Langtry host the anime club, she’s also involved in LSE with Channsoniere, an all-girls’ choir where she was a bit skeptical about having to wear a dress for the shows.
