FOOD - THIS PROBLEM IS REAL

Food is quite a subject, with some an absolute obsession!

  Those who suffer with this problem also suffer with depression

   Eating is No longer just a normal way of life,

   But becomes a hazard, a tremendous ordeal, and causes a world of strife.

   We live in a world that tells you "Thin is where it's at"!

   An outcast in society if you're in a body that is FAT!!!

   We must be thin, and uphold a position,

   When deep inside we make a decision.

   We'll be thin in this world, we'll give it all we've got---

  Ignoring all the proper nutritional stuff that we've been taught.

   We'll go without food, for it's become an evil word to mention,

   It causes fear and confusion, and hours of tension.

   For food has become the main part of your life,

   No longer doing your best as mother or wife.

   If I would sit down and eat with the rest,

   The need to throw it up, I grew to detest!

   Food like that left there, is like poison that will kill,

   It's hard for people to understand all this, but the problem is real!!!

   This problem controls your life, your emotions, the way that you feel,

   Again I tell you--This problem is Real!!

   Why do you starve yourself to the point of feeling bad.

   It helps hide emotions of unhappiness, loneliness, and being sad.

   You feel in control, while your body wastes away,

   You feel in control, No matter what people say!!

  This problem with food, deals with how you really feel,

   I'm telling you people --THIS PROBLEM IS REAL!!!

   It's not just a phase, you think that you'll try,

   But, a horrible vicious cycle, that can cause you to die!!!

   This is a psychological and physical disorder to treat

   And knowing the whole truth, can be quite tough to beat!!!

   But remember this is a disorder that comes to destroy and steal,

   And if you don't get help, IN THE END, IT WILL KILL!!!

   I'M TELLING YOU PEOPLE, THIS PROBLEM IS REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOOD ADDICTION

Addiction is a process, that sticks to you like glue,

   You lose the meaning of yourself, you lose what's really you!

   It leads you off in paths, far far away.

   It stays real close right by your side, it's there without delay!

   It irrupts your normal life of living,

   Maybe inside peace, it seems to be giving.

   Taking away deep pain that you feel,

   With problems in life you really need to deal.

   It deceives you, it lies, you believe things that aren't true.

   You lose the former idendity of the one you once knew!

   People would say, turn loose, let go, and live on,

   As if this problem tomorrow would be gone.

   It won't leave that easily, I've tried and I know,

   It's gonna take more, much more , for it to go.

   For now it has become simply part of your life,

   A big interruption, but at times, a healing devise.

   But it must go, now it's taking to much of a toll,

   For now you realize, IT HAS COMPLETE CONTROL!!!

   This thing you felt, that once was your friend,

   Is bringing your life to a screeching end!

   That's what will happen if you don't stop this self-destructive behavior,

   You've got to reach out and up to your Saviour.

   I know God sees this pain deep inside,

   Can completely destroy this monster on whom you've relied.

   We need to let God be our "addiction" instead,

   And choose to live on, rather than end up dead.

   While this monster has pretended to give you instruction,

   Noticing your body falling apart in destruction.

   Is this lonely, horrible, guilty feeling conviction???

   You must understand, IT'S YOUR BLESSED "ADDICTION" !!!
