(Continued)

These are some photos of a small cabinet I just finished painting.  I needed something by my door where I could put down packages and such while unlocking the door... so I got this thing at an estate sale for the magnificent sum of $1 (cash!)  I put several hours of prep time on it (because the top was severely damaged and just because good prep makes it last longer).  Then I had an absolute ball just painting whatever came into my mind onto the various surfaces (even the inside is painted).   It was like being a kid again and just having fun.  I also "wrote" different things on various surfaces as the spirit moved me.  As I said earlier, this kind of painting gives me a break from the oil paintings and the computer, plus it's a fun way to spruce up old stuff around the house.

Cabinet — top

This one says "Live Music" on the left and "About Face" on the right.  Don't ask me the significance of any of this.. it's just random insanity.  Maybe that's why I wrote "carpe delirium" on the other side... LOLOL!  I didn't take photos of the inside.. so maybe you'll come to visit me to see that!

This says "The artist is not a different kind of person; but every person is a different kind of artist" in sloppy handwriting around the yellow part and it says "Shine" in a fancy print below the sun/moon.

This says "Carpe Delirium" on the right side.

This is a quote that I picked up from the Run For The Wall site... it really touched me, so I thought I'd share it.

Life is eternal, Love is immortal,
And Death is only a horizon –
And a horizon is nothing but the limit of our sight.

Declan Hughes, quoting someone else...

Just saw this post in the Hearth folder in SeniorNet and wanted to be sure as many people saw it as possible...

Kirke will have surgery on Wednesday, July 11th to remove a wedge from her upper lobe of the left lung. Luckily, early detection is the key. Her doctors feel she will have a 100% cancer cure without having chemo or radiation. I hope you will remember her in your prayers and good thoughts. She will be in the hospital for at least 10 days, according to the specialist,

and in the Intensive Care Unit several days following the surgery If you would like to send her a card, I know it would mean a great deal to her......the address is below

Alumni.Net - Bringing School Friends Together
Good site.  No fee.
Navigation is easy.  Registration is free. The BHS Alumni Scholarship Fund benefits every time someone clicks here, goes directly there, and registers on Alumni.net.  It's FREE!  BHS is dear to my heart because I went there and I am webmaster for that site and spend most of my time working on it these days... LOLOL!!  You won't believe what fun it is to find old pals or just find people who attended the same school and have the same kinds of memories that YOU have.  Heck... by this time, I have no idea who wasn't a friend of mine.  You can also check out other grad years, other schools, etc. and there is a messaging system for contacting people.  All free, unlike some sites!

Well, this is the end of the pictures from this luncheon.  Sure has been fun sharing them with you all and we hope to have YOU with us next time!

The "NEXT" button below will take you back to the beginning of this section of luncheon pictures.

VistaGal's site is always very nice and very well done. VistaGal's Seniors Photo Gallery.

Another great site to visit for pictures of senior gatherings is Warren 88's site.  Warren is one of the best cheerleaders for gatherings you ever saw.  He and his wife, Roberta, winter in Mesa, AZ, and summer in Rockford, IL, and he sure keeps the seniors entertained a lot in both locations.  Warren88's site  Warren's site includes pictures of chatters from SeniorNet, Sixty Is Something, AARP, and others.

And still another great site is Marilyn's Place, which has hundreds of pictures of AARP chatters, gatherings, etc.  That link is to her alphabetical index of photos.
