First the report... then the pictures... hang in there!

Hey... mid-terms are over now and I'm 4.0!  YAYYYYYYYYY!!!  Just wanted to brag some.

Dear old California weather cooperated AGAIN and gave us a glorious day of perfect weather for another picnic get-together at Tom's Farms!

It was super to have The Newlyweds, Charlie  (CWP157) and BettyAnn780 (Betty), back with us.  They've been married a whole month now!  They just got back from a long trip to West Virginia to get Betty's things and bring them back to California.

It was marvelous for all of us to finally get to meet The Famous Lazerus59 (Loyal) after talking with him for ages in SeniorNet chat and enjoying his writings via email.  Loyal is now a columnist on the AARP Seniors' Writing Corner.  Clicking on that link should take you there. Each month he submits three or four of his wonderful stories. He also writes a monthly column, "Sez Who," and if you scroll down even further, he does a column called "Father Gregory".

KidKidd reports that he is moving right along in recovery.  It's always slower than we would like, but he's heading in the right direction.

We all need to gang up and support MayerNV and his lovely wife, JoAnn.  JoAnn has just been diagnosed with lung cancer following a needle biopsy, and we all know what a terrific blow that is.  Not too many details yet because they will see the oncologist on November 8.  If you don't know them, Mayer is often in SeniorNet chat late at night and they were the first couple to meet and marry through SeniorNet... wayyyyyy back.  They are a lovely, devoted couple and we are all praying like mad for a good outcome for JoAnn.  Please add your prayers and support and encouragement... we all know it does wonders.

The bladder surgery that had been planned for DesertLady33 (Dee) has been canceled.  The doctors suspect she has a heart blockage, so she has been referred to a cardiologist for tests.  Keep those prayers coming for Dee!  We love you, girl!

My dear friend, LimeyV, is having an Open House on November 9 in Glendale, AZ.  Contact Warren88 for details.

This is a great true story from one of our good friends.. but I won't tell you who it is ...  to spare her further embarrassment (no pun intended... LOL!!!)  If she says it's okay, I'll rat her off next time.  Maybe she will share the photos!

I just got back from a Trip to the mtns with a friend — We did the whole skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge MTN parkway — AWESOME! Took in the Luray Cavern , the antique car Museum and the natural Bridge — walked throught the mountain path along the river to the water fall and visited the Indian Village where they were cooking wild turkey and venison on hot rocks! I love Indian history.. We picnic'd high on the mountain top and of course, the photo bug that I am, I spotted a neat black slate rock with a yellow tree behind it and had to climb up there to have my picture taken — smile pretty!  Now it is time to come down and I thought how will I do this now???? hahaha Of course! The easy way!  Just sit on your butt and inch your way down ! OOPSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! There go my pants! Panic sets in and decide to slide fast and get off this darn rock so like a little kid I put my legs out and start to slide... OOOOOPS... OOOOOPS again.   More tears in the slacks.  Well, now the cool MTN air was cooling off my tush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha!  With other tourists at this overlook, I was so embarrased and  then I had to walk back to the van... LOL!  I guess this is why MOM always said make sure you have on CLEAN UNDERWEAR in case of an accident! HAHAHAHA! With everyone there focusing on me because of my cries of OHHHH NOOOOOOOO, I decided we might as well all have a good laugh!  I graciously bent over and said this is a classic ... snap your pictures now ... a classic Moon shot!  LOL!  What a fun time I had getting to know my new state.

We sure hope YOU get a chance to be with us next time!  Since it will be December, it's fairly likely we will have to meet somewhere indoors... probably Trina's, but I'll let you know.

If you have not seen it before, be sure to visit Heather's Page!

Please go back to the main SGGAF page for address, directions, and other general information about our luncheons.

We always miss (and gossip about) those who can't attend... and we always have a good time with those who CAN.

Who attended?
*means this is not a screen name

*Ali (LadyZinnia's youngest daughter)
BPettit (Bob) — Loma Linda
CajunQJ — San Diego
CWP157 (Charlie) and BettyAnn780 — Riverside
Dodie32 — Palm Springs
*Drew Sun Li (LadyZinnia's grandboy)
LadyZinnia (Zinny) — Corona
MciScot (Mac) Corona
RenoBarn (Barney) and PerkyCA (Joyce) — Corona
Lazerus59 (Loyal) — Redlands

It is always so sweet to see old friends, meet new friends, and to put faces together with screen names for online pals we've talked to but have not met before.  Lots of pals were otherwise occupied today, and if you weren't able to attend,

WE MISSED YOU!

All of these pictures have the captions ATTACHED to them, so they will stay with the photos if you want to right-click and download any of them to your computer.

I always put these photos up two or three to a page, so that I can leave them larger and still have them load quickly into your browser.  Just keep using the "NEXT" button on each page to see more pictures.
