Kosmos Oil Lamps
Kosmos oil lamps
have been manufactured in the Jura
Mountains of France by the same
family since 1869.
The quality of these lamps is outstanding.
Due to a unique
burner/wick/chimney design they
produce an amazing amount of light. Easily enough to comfortably read by,
with no fragile mantels to break as in Aladdin type lamps. A Kosmos lamp
makes an excellent choice for any interior decorating or emergency lighting
needs.
The lamps are extremely
attractive and with many configurations to choose from you are assured an
elegant accent to any rooms decor. The lamps are constructed of solid
brass with meticulous attention to detail. (Notice the
cut filigree on the bottom of the burners.) With their superb quality
and many
attributes they are destined to
become cherished heirlooms or sought after collectibles.
Two burner options are available. Both burners form a flat wick round and channel air through and around the flame producing a remarkably bright light. The #14 Kosmos is the standard. The #15 Matador has an added flame spreader increasing light output 25%. (Requires more careful attention to flame adjustment and a Matador type chimney)
