LEGENDS
Here are some legends I've
collected from several places. If you have anything you think it's interesting to add,
please e-mail me.

A TRADITIONAL LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF
According to an ancient
legend, a man becomes a werewolf if someone commits a mistake pronouncing a word in his
baptism.
The "disease's" development happens between the twenty and thirty
years old.
He starts getting thin and sore-eyed (professor Lupin's symptoms, ah!).
In full-moon nights, he becomes a werewolf and he has to pass through seven
villages and return to the place from where he came. Then, he recovers his human shape and
gets in his normal routine.
RUNNING WEASEL
I heard there is a legend
about an army stratigist who played chess very well. I mean, really, really well! You
know, like Ron (an advice: get your own conclusions about this legend. Personally, I
don't believe it's real.).
The legend says that he had a rat, a rat that was dyed yellow. Remember
that Ron tried to make Scabbers turn yellow in the first book.
Unfortunatelly, Running was eventualy killed by his rat (poor guy!).
ROMULUS AND REMUS
There is a legend about Rome's
(capital of Italy) foundation which tells that Romulus and Remus ( they were twins) were
sons of Mars ( the Roman god of war) and a princess.
One day, a jealous uncle threw Romulus and Remus into a river. They were
found and rescued by a female wolf that suckled them. Later, they were found by a
shepherd.
Many years later, Romulus and Remus wanted to found the city of Rome. They didn't agree
about the place where the city should be built, so they had a fight. Remus was killed by
his brother (I hope this doesn't happen in Harry Potterīs books!). |
