Why Go To Mass?

Celebrating Mass is the Central Act of Catholic Worship.

The Mass is an opportunity to participate in Christ's Sacrifice and Risen Life

The Mass is a time to worship:  In Public it is different from and adds to private prayers and meditations.  With others people join together to share the gifts and grace of God.

Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them."

The Mass is a time to give and to receive -- to give praise to God and to receive God's blessings.  The Mass is a regular time for worship. It can:

Strengthen our faith

Nourish our spiritual life

Encourage Christian attitudes and actions:

The Mass is an opportunity for each of us. We can:

Offer ourselves to God through Jesus Christ

Express our love for Christ

Share with others in the faith community.

The Mass is a sacred rite that joins us with God.  The Mass is:

A sacrifice

A Holy Meal

A time to give thanks and praise God

A time to hear God's word and receive guidance

A Celebration

Inspirational, challenging us to improve the ways we love and serve God.

     The Mass provides inspiration for:

Helping those less fortunate than ourselves

Showing God's love to family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers

Spreading the Word of God's promise for all people

Using Christian values as a basis for all decisions

Doing God's work, every day in every way.
