R. M. S. Titanic's lifeboats.
British Board of Trade
required 16 lifeboats of 65 persons each. Collapsible lifeboats A,B,C &
D with 30 person limit. A required capacity for 1,600 people. Titanic had
2,223 passengers and crew on board. 706 people survived, 492 passengers
and 214 crewmembers. The only lifeboat drill was held on sailing day. The
#11 and #15 starboard lifeboats were used.
