TRAINING PHILOSOPHY Our customers do not come to us to learn how to abseil, climb or build rafts. They come to us to learn how to lead others and how to work together effectively. We use adventure activities as a vehicle to teach people to work together. All activities are scaled to the capabilities of the delegates. Our activities should be challenging, not impossible. Our goal as facilitators and service providers is to teach people to work together effectively, not frighten them to death, starve them or make them feel inferior. Our facilitators are not guides or leaders or supervisors. They are responsible for safety, ensuring that programs maintain focus and that delegates have the maximum opportunity to acquire and utilize leadership and teamwork skills. Our facilitators, while very good at their jobs, will not be present at the work place. Our training plans must reflect this and all programs will focus on enabling the delegates to learn, acquire and use the desired skills with the minimum amount of direction from our facilitators. To this purpose, all programs will be designed to give delegates the maximum possible responsibility for their goals, their actions and their safety, subsequent to our stated safety policies. Our clients know their respective business areas much better than we here at Adventure Services ever will. Research has shown that the most effective programs need input from the clients training managers. Your ideas and suggestions on training programs and the focus of these programs is needed and very important to us. For our programs to be effective in your workplace, they must contain the same values that your company strives for. We welcome your comments and involvement in the planning of our programs |
