Written by Kelly Riley In the past we were the best of friends You were with me through it all Our spare time spent together Every night I got a call With each day that past for us You grew closer to my heart A special love between us I thought would never part Just an ordinary day No different than before How was I to know that the last time I'd see you Was when you walked out my door It was those times that I remember Those times I won't let die Because I know that deep in my heart You don't want to see me cry Yet baby it hurts me now to know We're not together as in the past No calls are heard on my phone tonight Those days were over all too fast But I carry this hope Deep within my heart And in my soul tonight That if I can't be with you on earth In heaven it will be made right If not here together I'm trying with all my might If not here with you baby Please wait in heaven for me tonight Because God holds us both In his hand right now tonight So even though I can't see you With his love we have each other in sight. And if I lose my way on Earth I'll just listen to my heart Because even though your not with me It's there you'll never part Your light is shining down from heaven Your love will be my guide So until I'm walking with you in heaven In heart I'm by your side That's why I carry this hope Deep within my heart And in my soul tonight That if I can't see you baby In heaven it will be made right.
