Tears

Tears are raindrops
From the heavens
The water from
Angels above

Each looking for
That special someone
Who shares their
Joy and love

I am not that angel
Singing
But far from that
Heavenly place

Sent to earth
With but a mission
By the love of God
And his grace

But while I'm here
And on this earth
I look at the tears
That fall

I yearn to stop the
Rain from falling
To answer that
Angels call

I reach above
To touch that angel
That beautiful creature
Of light


But I am just a
Simple man
With no wings
To give me flight

Please hear the
Voice of me who's
Calling
To you from below

Maybe if we
Reach together
That dream can be
Made so

Until that time
When we can meet
I'll be looking from
The earth

Catching those tears
Which fall from heaven
From you who gave
Them birth

Yet
If I by saying
That I love you
Can stop the rain
From falling

Please rest assure
That I say this now
Because its you for
Whom I'm longing
