Journals are informal responses to
your reading, and allow you to have a conversation on paper with yourself.
Fifteen minutes a day can be enough--jot down thoughts before going to
bed, between classes, etc. Your audience is you, so the content and tone
can be as personal and informal as you wish.
Unlike a diary, a journal is not merely for recording what you do each
day. A journal is for your thoughts. You can draw on your reading, your
observations, and ideas about the course material. You may also respond
to quotations, or just react to the stories, poems, or plays--giving your
opinions, beliefs, and tastes.
Journals should be submitted on a weekly basis via E-Mail to your instructor,
and should be about 200 words in length. (7 Journals--one for each week) |
