How do I determine the size of my post before I send it?

Click on File | Save  and this will send your post to your Drafts folder. Check your file size in the drafts folder. (If you don't have it showing, right click on the title bar at the word subject and go to columns, you can add file size there)

One thing you can do to get the file size down is to check the size of the graphic or sound used. The graphic can be compressed using your graphics program.   (for more on this, see the question "How do I keep the file size down?")

A wav file can be compressed, http://www.elnet.com/~bjn/SizeMatters.htm.

A smaller midi might need to be selected if your file size is still too large.

How large is too large?  Microsoft has set a 1 meg maximum for post size, but most posts are around 125kb. The size of your file will determine the number of people who read it.  Slower connections and cost of download time may keep a larger file from reaching its audience.   Keep these things in mind, but it is your creative effort so the choice is yours.
