Fatima has always boasted a successful, talented swim team which places regularly in Inter-School Swimming Meets. In recent years, swimming at Fatima has been under the guidance of Mr. Hayden Newallo who recently left Fatima to pursue another career. Fatima has, in the past, produced highly successful swimmers, notably the Paddington brothers Luke and Sebastian who have had continuing success representing their University team in Canada.

In that proud tradition has emerged Stephan Ottley, captain of the team and also Head Boy at Fatima. At a meet during the Christmas vacation, 1996, Stephan broke two of his own national records in the 100m and 200m breaststroke. His times of 1:04:50 and 2:28:64 surpassed his previous bests by .27 and 2.3 seconds respectively. In breaking these records, Stephan earned himself a place in the World Short Course Championships to be held in Sweden, as well as for the Junior Nationals (in U.S.A), CCCAN (Cuba) in 1997 and C.A.C Games in Venezuela in 1998.
