Can you hear the screams of love
A lonesome boy is crying out
For lots of years he has been tough
He did not ever think about
Having a girl for all his life

Some day she'll come I'll have a wife
But now he's only feeling pain

Can you hear the screams of pain
Of the hopeless ghetto kids
They're only standing in the rain
And no one's there who cares a bit
And everybody wonders why
Criminal rate has gone so high
But no one cares, does anything
The slums are not worth entering

Can you hear the screams of warning
Nature sends out every morning
They just mean if we don't care
That in few years no life's there

Which I hear in nightmare dreams
