Our Campaign

The goals of the A.L.S.A. are to preserve the Amazon Rainforest. To do this we will turn all of the forest into a National Forest, except for the areas that have already been destroyed. In these areas we will allow the replanting of trees for timber. These areas, once harvested, will be used again to regrow trees to be harvested, so no more of the forest will be destroyed.

When the soil gets exhausted, we will live that area fallow and add nutrients to help it to get healthy again. We aim to stop all other deforestation while preserving the natural habitats for the rainforest animals and people.

Once we have done this, the A.L.S.A. will set up a tourist attraction which will not harm the forest. It might include rainforest walks (see left) or tours, and will allow people to see the rainforest animals in their natural habitat. It might also be breeding the endangered animals of the forest to help to regrow their population. Most of the jobs of the tourist attraction will be given to the people who were put out of work when we stopped the deforestation so they have no need to cut down the trees for money.
