The Amazon Rainforest is located in South America, mainly in Brazil, French Guinea, Surinam, Venezuala, Columbia and Peru. Brazil however, is mostly responsibe for the disappearance of the Amazon.

Amazon Trees

Every one in 10 trees in the world grows in the Amazon. This is probably why the Amazon provides 40% of the world's oxygen. The Amazon Rainforest is extremely dense, 7 000 plants have been counted in one square kilomtre.

Amazon Wildlife
|
There are so many species of animals in the Amazon Rainforest that it is suspected that 1 000 000 000 more are yet to be discovered. The Manatee, one of the most endangered animals in the world lives in the Amazon. It is endangered for many different reasons, such as pollution, deforestation, which leads to soil erosion.
