Ukyo Kuonji met Ranma when they  were very young, while Genma was travelling with Ranma to Japan.  Ukyo's father had a small okonomiyaki business (okonomiyaki is a Japanese pizza), and every morning Ranma and Ukyo would play-fight, and if Ranma won, he and Genma would get a free okonomiyaki.  One day Ukyo's father suggested to Genma that Ukyo should marry Ranma when they were older to carry on the business, and Genma later asked Ranma what he preferred: Ukyo or okonomiyaki.  Ranma, being a lad of about five years (and not knowing that Ukyo was a girl, since Ranma doesn't fight girls), chose okonomiyaki, and Ranma and Genma ran off with the yatai (a cart of okonomiyaki).  Ukyo was left a broken, bitter girl.
Ukyo traveled to Nerima years later and sent a challenge (written on okonomiyaki) to Genma, and when he confronted her, she attacked him without a second thought.  Akane overheard the battle and found Genma under attack by an angry man claiming to be the child he left behind (you must understand them - everyone believed at first that Ukyo was a guy - the artists even gave her thicker eyebrows and no bust whatsoever to heighten the idea).  Ranma appeared to find his father beaten senseless and the man vowing to beat him next.
The next day Ukyo Kuonji was introduced to the 1-F class at Furinkan High, and he followed it up with a serving of okonomiyaki for the entire class.  Ranma recognized the flavor and addressed him as Okonomiyaki Ucchan, telling the story of how they met and Ukyo adding that they stole her father's cart (which Ranma conveniently forgot).  Genma appears from nowhere and protests that Ukyo's father gave him the cart for taking Ukyo off his hands, and when Ranma asks why he wanted to come with them, Ukyo challenges Ranma to fight outside the gym.

Ranma finds Ukyo in a battle ring with a non-stick cooking surface surrounding the edges.  Ukyo attacks Ranma while he easily dodges his blows, so he uses cooking techniques to entrap Ranma in rubber cement and noodle binding.  Ranma loses his cool and throws Ukyo out of the ring, chasing him to a standstill.   Ranma steals his spatula and slashes his chest, and he jumps to the trees where Ranma tackles him and they fall through the roof of the P.E. Equipment Room.  Ranma tackles Ukyo again and grabs his chest, consequentially grabbing some bust, and getting a heavy slap.  Ukyo tells Ranma that he is a girl, and Genma arrives with Akane and the rest of the bystanders and explains the story of leaving Ukyo behind.  Ranma leaves with Ukyo and gives her back her spatula, whereas she picks up her assault.  Ranma calls her cute, shocking Ukyo, and she denies being cute despite Ranma's continued compliments.  Akane appears, having overheard the entire deal, and Ranma introduces his cute fiancee to his uncute fiancee, and Akane swings at him.  Ukyo observes the short brawl and gives Ranma an okonomiyaki with a heart on it, telling them to let bygones be bygones.
Ukyo owns the restaurant Ucchan's and serves okonomiyaki (big surprise).  She now tries to win Ranma's heart over Akane, Shampoo and Kodachi, and calls herself "Ranma's cute fiancee".  She often wears boy's clothes (school uniform and all), and always sports an enormous spatula on her back, sometimes accompanied with a bandolier carrying smaller spatulas for throwing.

Back to the Don.......This one's my own invention!
