The wife of the Gundam pilot Chang Wufei, Meiran was similar in personality to her husband; strong willed, superior, and hostile, but with an inner kindness that she showed few.

When their colony was overrun by the Alliance, Meiran was supposedly killed, dying in her husbands arms. However, after he left her body behind, Master O, his trainer, found her, still clinging to life by a thread, and took her to Earth.

There she remained until she woke from her coma, over 2 years after the incident. At that time, Master O came to her and provided her with a Gundam virtually identical to the one Wufei himself piloted. Using her Chan-Long Gundam, the Lone Dragon, she now travels throughout space, trying to find her lost love, Wufei.
