Hilary Sainte-James is an ordinary man doing an ordinary job in a time when ordinary things seem increasingly rare. Hilary is happy with his desk job. He knows his talents are in administration, and though he might like to see a little combat, he is aware that General Khushrenada can't function without an efficient and independent staff. Also, the job gives him a fair amount of time to spend with his wife, their two young daughters, as well as their dog, goldfish, and multiple stuffed animals. Hilary was the first to discover that the artificial life form Hiro Yui was not, in fact, authorised by Treize.

Ruthless, underhanded, prideful, he refuses to give up at any cost even his own life, and he is determanded to meet his role model one day.
