After the completion of the space colonies, there was a time of war during which many countries actively competed for control of outer space. After decades of conflict, an alliance was formed between the nations of the Earth. Those opposed were eventually forcefully recruited into the new order. Thus was the alliance formed.

Although they were dedicated to peace, with the advent of the Mobile Suit and through the slow manipulations of the Romafeller foundation, the Alliance became nothing more than a dictatorship, with power based in a cabinet of some 150 leaders from around the world. As it grew, it turned its sights on the colonies, forcefully seizing one after another. However, in the final years of the Alliance, Field Marshal Noventa began calling for total peace and demilitarization between all the nations of Earth and space.

This all ended when Heero Yuy, mistaking the shuttle of the escaping Alliance Leaders for an OZ convoy, killed the pacifist leaders of the Earth.

Despite the indication that all the Alliance leaders were killed, some may still survive, hidden in the shadows of Romafeller, hoping to get their revenge on the tyrannous foundation . . . or praying for justice for the Gundam pilot that almost singlehandedly ended the alliance.
