Perhaps the most unusual machine in existence, Val Valo is quite literally a living space ship. Controlled via psychic connection and capable of immense firepower, Val is not only partially organic, she is also sentient and capable of telepathic communication with anyone capable of telepathic transmission and reception.

Discovered centuries ago by humanity during one of their more primitive ages, Val has a deep hatred of the military forces that imprisoned her for so many years, attempting to understand a technology they could not possibly fathom. When she was finally released by Shellion, she was eternally grateful and is completely loyal to him.

Val is wary of outsiders, but is willing to trust anyone who Shellion trusts. Val is tolerant of people who do not realize that she is alive and call her "it," since she can do little to prevent such behavior except ask Shellion to explain her true nature.
