Jonathan was a soldier in French & Indian War in 1758, and took part inthe
Crown Point Expedition of 1758. He apparently moved to Nottingham, West,N.H.,
about 1743, as his name then was first found on the tax list. He is saidto
be the first to establish and operate the ferry that existed for more than
eighty years near Nashua, N.H. The ferry was first called "Hardys Ferry".
