Members of the U.S. Navy Sea Cadet Sacramento Division Corps stand together in uniform last year. The Placer County Navy League, which supports the Corps. was recently named a nonprofit organization. in addition to giving moral and financial support to the Sea Cadet Corps with boys and girls age 13 to 18, and the Navy League Cadet Corps with kids age 10 to 13, the group sponsors a junior officers unit at the Maritime Academy in Vallejo. "We want to continue in these efforts, but would like to have more young people from Placer County participating in these programs," said Ed Magorian, program chairman. "Wouldn't it be nice if some of our local merchants and parents helped us? The reward is in seeing the proud and responsible citizens that graduate from these groups."
