My name is Ryan Thompson. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I am currently working as a technician in the department of physical therapy at the University of Alberta. It's a job that has many tasks, like contacting volunteers that help us with our studies, maintaining elictrical equipment, writing computer software for data analysis, general accounting for all purchases and even writing web pages for some of the profs there.

I'm really interested in all things that have to do with computers. My degree was in computing science from the University of Alberta. I participate actively in an online programming community, edit movies for amature film festivals, and love making music and artwork (like all the graphics you see on the web page here). I've been programming computers since I was 10. My ambition is to be involved in making software.

I help run a squash club, set up tournaments and help beginners learn the sport, as well as participate in the edmonton squash league.

I've traveled many places, like Japan, France and Belgium. I particularily enjoyed learning about their languages and cultures. I plan to return one day.
