Beyond the specs:
If you take the already awesome Dodge Viper GTS coupe and tune it for racing what do you get? The awesome 680 horsepower Le Mans racing Chrysler (there is no Dodge in Europe) Viper GTS-R beast with a massive tire melting 700 lbs.-ft of torque. Considering that the engine much survive 24 full hour of virtually nonstop racing and it connected to Le Mans regulated air restrictors to choke it so other cars can compete, this is one amazing engine. Not only is more powerful than the current competition, but it cost almost of the price of most of its competition. This is one amazing Le Mans vehicle, and unlike the GTS coup it is forgiving of mistakes in turns which is a rare occurrence when cornering limits are increased this much! The previous Le Mans racing Viper only competed in the GT2 class, but now after dominating that Chrysler finally decided to put this beast into the GT1 class with the Mclaren F1 GTR. This car has the largest engine displacement that is allowed in Le Mans racing which fortunately is no smaller than what the standard GTS coup has. The only Le Mans racecar with a comparable engine displacement is the upcoming TVR Speed 12 (remember there is no replacement for displacement). If only it was available for street use.
