Hyunkel and Krokodin won't let Baran fight against Fly now. But Baran tells them his target is Ban. Hyunkel and Krokodin are surprised. Krokodin asks Baran to join them to have more chances against Ban, but Baran simply punches Krokodin in his stomach and knocks Hyunkel on the ground. He says that he's still not wanting to collaborate with humans. Hyunkel notices that Baran's expression is different from that when he battled Fly. Hyunkel understands that Baran wants to fight Ban first to give a chance to his son to defeat Ban, even if he knows he can loose this battle. Hyunkel wants to stop Baran, but Baran asks what he will do against him, as he's much stronger than Hyunkel. Hyunkel throws his spear away. Baran is astonished but then notices that Hyunkel's combative spirit has completely vanished. Hyunkel wants to use COUNTER ATTACK a technique Aban invented to defeat Hadora. It consists of receiving the attack of the enemy and then using the force he used on you against himself. But to be able to resist to the attack of the enemy you have to diminish your combative spirit. Hyunkel knows this will be the most effective technique against Baran because he has an enormous strength. Baran asks why Hyunkel absolutely wants to stop him. Hyunkel says he knows it would be profitable to the humans to let Baran fight first and then make a second assault, but his spear or better the spirit of Rafaruto who lives through the spear won't let him do that. Rafaruto asked Hyunkel to wake over Fly and Baran!
Baran understands Hyunkel and accepts to measure himself to Hyunkel's technique. They engage the battle unaware of the fact that they are being observed by Hym and Alvinas. Alvinas wants to take advantage of the situation to eliminate both and rushes towards them. Hyunkel and Baran notice her but to late as Baran already released his attack. Alvinas invokes 1000 pikes and after the lightflash they all vanished. But Alvinas has been severely hit by Hyunkel! Indeed, Baran used Rura to escape with Hyunkel and Krokodin. But it was Hyunkel who saved him. When Alvinas rushed into them Hyunkel used COUNTER against Alvinas instead of Baran. But he has been severely hit by Baran and is unable to fight now. Baran asks Krokodin what he can do to thank Hyunkel for saving him. Krokodin asks him to take into account Hyunkel's request and fight with Fly against Ban. Baran agrees and goes with Krokodin to the place where Fly and the others are hiding. Poppu is the most surprised (read: terrified) at seeing Baran back.Finally the team decides to attack the Soil of Death. Baran and Fly go under the sea to open the door to the Ban Palace while Poppu, Krokodin and Fuam face the guards. Hyunkel has to stay in bed because he's too injured. Baran and Fly have no difficulty to find the entrance, but Fenbren is waiting before it. He wants to take revenge on Baran. But he's soon finished by Fly who managed to unsheathe his sword. Baran and Fly both use their techniques to destroy the door and succeed. Of course there is no dragon knight that could have destroyed this door, but two dragon knights... Fly and Baran pursue their way and arrive at a hall. Hadora was waiting for them!!
At first Baran doesn't want to fight against Hadora together with Fly because he finds it
humiliating. But Fly explains that Hadora has become much stronger. As Baran doesn't understand,
Fly proposes to fight first and show his father the new powers of Hadora. Baran is soon very
impressed by Hadora's power though Fly is fighting really good too. But after Fly invoked Aban
Slash on Hadora, Baran notices something horrible!! The wound Fly made is so deep that Baran can
see that something has been transplanted into Hadora's body: the malefic nucleus!!
The malefic nucleus is an explosive Baran once encoutered in the malefic world when he fought against Veruza. It is made from minerals who absorb the magic power. It is so strong that even the monsters fear it. Ban and Myst, who are following the events on a sort of great bowl comparable to a T.V.-screen, also remarked that Baran noticed the nucleus. Ban explains that when he resurrected Hadora he tranplanted a malefic nucleus into his body by way of precaution, because he tought about the eventuality that Hadora could betray him. As Ban can control the nucleus he can make him explose at any moment!! Ban sees Myst is looking somewhat anxious, but Ban tells him not to worry because there is no nucleus in his body: "How would I have transplanted it?!..."
Baran has informed Fly of the situation. From now on they are only talking to each other by telepathy to avoid that Hadora hears them. Because if Hadora knows about the nucleus, Ban wouldn't hesitate a second and let it explode. If the nucleus exploded, the whole Soil of Death would disappear with his friends who are fighting on it!!! Hadora notices that Baran and Fly are not using techniques anymore. He asks them why they are only defending themselves. Baran and Fly of course avoid the use of spell and techniques because it could make the nuclues explode. Baran suddenly invokes Gigaden on his sword and tells Hadora he was just testing his power. Hadora prefers that and prepares himself with his hyper malefic flames. Continuing by telepathy, Baran tells to Fly that he will cut off Hadora's head with Giga Brake and then controle the explosion with all his dragonic aura. He asks Fly to go to the surface, through the hole he made with Gigaden, to warn his friends. Fly hesitates but then goes to the surface. Hadora and Baran dash towards each other. Hadora seems to win the duel, but Baran takes off his decoration on the left part of his face and uses it to strike Hadora's arm. He then invokes Giga Brake to cut Hadora's throat, but fails!!
Hadora takes advantage of this moment and uses his claws to perfore Baran, but Fly interposes himself and receives the attack in his belly. Baran pushes Hadora away and then tries to heal Fly. Suddenly Kilvan appears explaining why Baran couldn't cut off Hadora's throat. When Baran cut Kilvan's body in two parts, Kilvan's blood coagulated on the blade of Baran's sword. The blood of Kilvan that has the same composition as the magma in the malefic world has corroded Baran's sword and decreased it's effectivity against powerfull enemies like Hadora. Kilvan asks Piroro to heal Hadora. Then he leaves the hall and joins Ban and Myst.
Hadora decides to finish them but Fly blocks his attack. Fly asks his father to finally battle together. Baran says OK, but when Fly turns himself to see his father, the latter invokes RARIHOMA to make Fly sleep. Then Baran transforms himself into the human-monster-dragon.
Hadora and Baran fight against each other but Baran is definitely too strong. Ban decides to make the malefic nucleus explode, but waits when he sees Hadora tries a final assault. Baran accepts Hadora's last attack. Hadora dashes towards Baran, but misses him and Baran punches in Hadora's belly. Ban activates the nucleus but notices nothing happens. "You have made a great mistake, Ban", says Baran while controling the malefic nucleus with his dragonic aura!
