CENSUS: NATARC Film # T9-160; Vol 18; ED 156; Sheet 14; Line 20; Paulding Co. GA, 1880 William Edward Levell and Drusillar Artimiss Lowe show in the 1900 U.S. Cenus of Bear Creek, Shelby Co., Alabama. It shows that William was born in July of 1866. This conflicts with family records that show his birthdate as 26 July 1867. The 1910 U.S. Census of Hill Co., Texas shows him to be 42 years old which would place his birth at July 1867. Family records and the 1910 Census are probably the most correct. William changed the spelling of his surname from Leavell to Levell. No one in the family knows why he did this. He died on the farm which was 10 miles from Kemp, Texas. He is buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Kemp, Kaufman, Texas.
