MESSAGE
TO THE BLIND
by Robin K. Westbrook
I was told it wouldn't hurt too much,
That I'd forget someday
You say I should be joyful,
That they took my child away?
My love child was the answer
For your infertility
And you were to be the answer
For my teenage pregnancy..
Yet, Still you walk in blindness,
Down a one way darkened hall
Not seeing that my child and I,
Had no choice at all.
What joy is there in tragedy?
Where is there peace and rest?
I surrendered, and my beating heart,
Was torn bleeding from my chest.
Protect yourself, then, from the truth,
With blind complacency
But this Birthmother says, "Don't presume
to EVER speak FOR me!
