Whose Child Am I
==============
Written by Garner R. Haines/Cyril Brooks*
(*Cyril Brooks is my birth name)

A life that had grown
Another child you could not care for alone
The time wasn't right
Too young to be a mommy and the money's too tight

Giving me up was your only answer
But your child got its Happy Ever After

Whose child am I
I've wondered all my life
I've seen my face in every stranger
Whose child am I
Tell me, it's my right
Whose face do I see in the mirror?

The years spent apart
I got new parents and a second start
But deep in my mind
I wonder about the family that I left behind

Frequently I would start to ponder
Of two hearts and souls torn asunder

Whose child am I
I've wondered all my life
I see my face in every stranger
Whose child am I
Tell me, it's my right
Whose face do I see in the mirror?

Now the lost have been found
A thousand questions in my mind
I grew up safe and sound
Your sacrifice was not in vain

Whose child am I
I've wondered all my life
I've seen my face in every stranger
Whose child am I
Tell me, it's my right
Whose face do I see in the mirror?
